[Skinny] Pore-Strip [Dipping]

As of skin care, developing a nightly ritual with at least three products in tow was the least that I would consider if one product can do the trick. My mild cleanser is my best friend and I decided to treat my pore problems separately by trying pore strips.

Everyone must've heard of pore strips: those 'tape type thingies' that you stick in your nose with the promise of pulling the blackheads out. Simple. You wonder later if masking tape would work as well (but of course, it won't so please don't try). But they tricky. The drill is you wet your nose, stick the strip and leave it for 15 minutes, pull it off and wash the excess after. However, pore strips can go wrong if you didn't moisten your nose enough, if you undo them too early or too late and if your skin is sensitive.

There are pre-cautions in using pore strips, sensitive skin, for which, is on top of the list as the strips really do a lot of "pilling off build-ups directly from the skin. Also, if you have naturally big pores, you might consider trying other alternatives. Chances are, it may leave your pores bigger. So I suggest you research about it first, or consult it with your derma.

I have relatively big pores but I tried it anyway for the blackheads. I had satisfactory results for using it the second time, after thorough research. Read below for the complete routing and illustration:
1. Clean your face with mild cleanser.

2. With a very warm water prepared, expose your face just above the warm steam for about two minutes to open your pores.

3. Now dip your nose in lukewarm water. Dip. Merely plashing the water won't do.

4. Right after you moist your nose, place the strip with dry hands and flatten it in place. Let it sit from 10-15 minutes.

The strip will harden in place, like what happens in a piece of paper dipped in glue and put in place in papier mache. This is how it catches the blackheads and pore build-ups. It will harden perfectly if you moisten your nose enough before this step.

5. Time the strip carefully. You will start to notice that the strip is starting to dry up and after 15-minutes, it's as hard as rock (for the lack of a better comparison). You can now carefully pull it off from both sides to the middle.

This step might hurt a lot. If doing this is extremely painful, dampen the strip with water.

6. Wash the remains of the sticky strip off your nose.

7. Wash your nose with cold water to help the empty pores tighten. Other suggest to rub ice cubes for a minute or so.

Surely, this pulled out a considerable amount of blackheads and build-ups.

8. (Optional) Now stare in that strip with disgust and wonder.

I used Watson's Pore Strips and left a duration of a week before using again. All that pulling can't be helpful for your skin all the time. Build-ups can appear again within days and this is just normal. Pore stripping does not guarantee banishing the evil blackheads forever, but it's a good temporary solution. If your skin reacted after your first use, stop further use. Maintain the cleansing and moisturizing after.
